21 Ιουν 2020 · Building EA3GCY’s DB4020 QRP Transceiver kit. by Frank Lagaet (ON6UU) In May, I discovered via a newsletter that a new kit was available from Javier EA3GCY in Spain. I was immediately sold as this was a kit from my favourite kit producer and it has 2 bands–it will also be able to do CW and there also will be a CW filter.
I prefer to shoot for targets I can easily hit. Most people who want to have a good DX signal on 40m but can't afford a beam, turn to a quarter-wave vertical. Though I often do that too, whenever I can, I put up something better; a 40m delta mono-loop.
29 Ιουν 2021 · I was very pleased that the X5105 found a match on the 40 meter band. I started calling CQ in CW and validated my activation by logging 10 stations in 13 minutes. Honestly: it doesn’t get much better than this.
2 Φεβ 2022 · Breadboard Radio has just released the 40 Woodpecker, a 40 meter low power CW transceiver for the 40 meter band. The Woodpecker features a crystal controlled transmitter with a 500 milliwatt output. The transmitter provides sidetone, receiver muting and QSK with delay.
I have the 40 meter version that was factory-built (inspected by Hans). It has worked flawlessly and I've made some good contacts with it. As others have mentioned, no AGC is tough, especially when coming across a big signal while wearing earbuds.
Product kit in 80, 60, 40, 30 and 20 meters version. It is single frequency, with VXO crystal oscillator, minimal, direct conversion; it has about 1 watt output power, in CW. It has sidetone and listening with automatic shift in RX; listening through the classic LM386, as in Pixie.
