21 Σεπ 2014 · The 406 I just finished up made 643 hp at 6500/ 580 ft lbs at 5400 with a little 780 carb on 93 octane Friday. It is a small solid roller but only 11.2:1 & AFR 220 heads. They are the cheaper "race ready" version, box stock except for opening up the pinch about .030".

7 Απρ 2011 · The engine is still pulling hard at 6000 rpm's but I try to keep it under 5500 most of the time. Good power from off idle to 6000 rpm. Computer estimates are around 450 hp and close to 500 lb ft of torque with a fairly flat curve. A lot of fun to drive, since it is in a grandma Nova it has surprised quite a few people.

13 Ιουλ 2021 · I'm running AFR 195 Competition Ported heads on my 406. Made 540hp/525tq with a 242/252 Voodoo cam and Vic jr and 750 HP carb. Runs much better with a tunnel ram though. AFR's are the way to go hands down.
