15 Ιουν 2016 · 02Our starting point is a 440 "F" block, denoting an engine built for the 1970 model year. The block had previously been built by a mass remanufacturer, and the bores measured 0.040-inch over.
This is a stock style setup, featuring a 3.750" stroke and bore sizes ranging from 4.350" to 4.380". Whether the kit is intended for stock replacement or racing, various levels of compression will allow for improved performance with emphasis on top-end power and high RPM.
Part 1 of our Mopar 440 stroker build shows the steps we took to build a robust short block to support 505 cubic inches with a Trick Flow Specialties top end kit that includes fully CNC'd 270 Powerport cylinder heads, hydraulic roller camshaft, Track Heat single plane intake manifold and a 950 CFM Holley Classic HP carburetor.
