I purchased a Gold Cup National Match Series 70 in 2016, blued, with one 7 round and one 8 round mag as well as a bushing wrench 🔧. First thing I did was replace the flat mainspring housing with an arched one. I shoot those better. My GCNM shoots really, really well.
Those who have shot both the Colt Gold Cup Trophy and Gold Cup National Match (45 ACP); which do you like better and why? If someone isn't competing it would probably come down to which grip safety they preferred or if they like checkering on their grips. I perfer the National Match on both of those fronts.

The big differences between the 2 models are checkering, the magwell, the wide trigger, and the Bomar style rear sight (all of which the Gold Cup has and the Competition Series doesn't). The checkering and magwell make the most difference.
