17 Φεβ 2023 · I was a fan of the 475 Linebaugh from Ross Seyfried's writing. I was hooked after shooting one of the earliest Hamilton Bowen's Ruger Bisley conversions. I have had a Freedom Arms 4-3/4" for many years & also a BFR 6". The 480 Ruger to me is about as much as I need in North America.
3 Ιουν 2015 · OK, love my 480 Ruger, and have started reloading for it. I recently went to one of our local establishments and found that they have 12 boxes of 475 LB ammo for 16.00 a box!! That is .80 cents a round.
16 Αυγ 2024 · Today I finally got to shoot it. Two things really surprised me about it. Its potential level of accuracy and its recoil. I have owned and shot a BFR in .480 Ruger, just a short .475 L so familiar with that level, but have never fired the Linebaugh in anything. The recoil of the .475 loads felt like a .30-06 at least!

2 Απρ 2020 · For the record, you can shoot 480 Ruger in a 475 Linebaugh, but there's not much of a point in doing so. Brass is not cheap, and you would likely get better accuracy out of a reduced load in a 475 Linebaugh. Here's the thing.
10 Μαρ 2017 · The effectiveness of the cartridge on big game cannot be argued. The .475 Linebaugh represents a standard by which all big-game revolver hunting cartridges are measured. Brass is readily available for handloading from two sources, Hornady and Starline.
