9 Φεβ 2024 · I have seen a couple reviews on the new SD40-2s, and some indicated the locos are jerky at slow speeds. Not something that I want on steep grades and sharp curves in the mountains. Anyone with ST units of any kind, what's the running quality like?

3 Νοε 2011 · What are the best N scale locomotives, passenger coaches, and rolling stock manufacturers? Kato seems good from my minimal research. Even some Bachmann seems ok to start with.

24 Νοε 2003 · Micro Trains has always been the granddaddy of N-scale rolling stock (and now make an FT). They have also commanded the highest prices. Other higher end companies include Intermountain (which now also produces locos – a real nice FT, SD40T-2, and an F3 on the way), Red Caboose, Deluxe, LBF.
10 Νοε 2019 · As apparently the only Bachmann EZ-track user here, I will say it has one basic virtue - it is ~95% compatible with Atlas Code 80 N scale track. That can be handy if you want to use something like Atlas' little bridges. You can also use Atlas wired rail joiners if you have something like an MRC DC power pack to power your train.
