9 Φεβ 2024 · I have seen a couple reviews on the new SD40-2s, and some indicated the locos are jerky at slow speeds. Not something that I want on steep grades and sharp curves in the mountains. Anyone with ST units of any kind, what's the running quality like? How about fit and finish?

24 Νοε 2003 · Micro Trains has always been the granddaddy of N-scale rolling stock (and now make an FT). They have also commanded the highest prices. Other higher end companies include Intermountain (which now also produces locos – a real nice FT, SD40T-2, and an F3 on the way), Red Caboose, Deluxe, LBF.
Amazing locomotives, really good named passenger trains, and basically the best snap track on the market. Also good starter packs. They don't make non-snap track though, and their freight car options are limited, so if you're looking for those things you need to look elsewhere.
