Originating from Japan, it is one of the foundational tools in Lean manufacturing, focusing on eliminating waste and improving operational efficiency. The five steps of 5S—Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain—provide a clear and systematic approach to workplace organization.
