The diameter of a 6.5×55mm cartridge is 0.264 inches (6.7056 millimeters). The diameter of a 7mm-08 Remington cartridge is 0.284 inches (7.2136 millimeters).

13 Οκτ 2010 · I have both, and do not think that you could go wrong with either one. The 6.5 x 55 has less recoil and perhaps more panache, but the 7-08 is about as good as it gets as a deer round.
5 Απρ 2008 · the sierra 175grs match bullet in 7mm is a good choice for longrange but the accuracy reputation of the 6.5x55 is indisputable. I own 2 7/08's and a 6.5x47. for hunting I'd choose the 7mm, for the range the 6.5
30 Ιαν 2011 · You could keep the hum drum 7mm-08, or you could keep the round that is soft on the shoulder but has the power that many a Swedish moose fear. Quite accurate too. If it was me, I'd sell both the Tikkas and get a CZ full stock in 6.5x55, but that's me.
21 Δεκ 2018 · When comparing the same bullet weight, the 6.5mm bullet will always offer better Sectional Density than any 7mm, just as any 7mm will show a grain-for-grain advantage over the .30 calibers.
