14 Δεκ 2022 · Anything you want to hunt with a 7mm-08, you can hunt with a 6.5 Creedmoor, but it’s easier and cheaper to find 6.5 ammo in a wide range of bullet weights and constructions. For most hunters, that’s more important than 125 fps at the muzzle.
6.5 Creedmoor vs 7mm-08. The 6.5 Creedmoor fires smaller diameter and more aerodynamic bullets than the 7mm-08 Remington. Both cartridges have a similar trajectory, but the 7mm-08 retains more kinetic energy than the 6.5 Creedmoor at typical hunting ranges while the 6.5 Creedmoor has less recoil.
13 Οκτ 2010 · I have both, and do not think that you could go wrong with either one. The 6.5 x 55 has less recoil and perhaps more panache, but the 7-08 is about as good as it gets as a deer round.
30 Ιαν 2011 · You could keep the hum drum 7mm-08, or you could keep the round that is soft on the shoulder but has the power that many a Swedish moose fear. Quite accurate too. If it was me, I'd sell both the Tikkas and get a CZ full stock in 6.5x55, but that's me.
13 Νοε 2015 · My thinking is, that given the swings and roundabouts, the 6.5 x 55 should be capable of safely achieving 2900 to 3000 with 100gn bullets, at least 2800 with 120s and hopefully around 2700 with 140s. All with accuracy and at sensible pressures.
5 Απρ 2008 · I've narrowed down my caliber choices to 6.5x55 and 7mm-08. I'm planning to build a rifle to suit myself, and it seems there are good choices for barrels/actions for both of these calibers. I appreciate any advice/input you can give me, even if you just point me in the right direction to research on my own.
