I've searched this forum and have followed the abundant troubleshooting advice that has been offered such as checking for a vacuum leak (nothing detected outside the engine), carb issues (rebuilt and everything adjusted) and electrical (components replaced).

Ford 260, 289 and 302 Valve Adjusting Order. Need to adjust your valves on a Ford Small Block? This is the chart that will help you do it. This is for engines with the older firing order. If you car has a later model cam shaft you should use the 302 HO / 351W order which is different.
21 Δεκ 2009 · Fix your problem, by going to a duraspark II & use a MSD 6AL which has the revlimiter chips. MSD makes a special harness to go from the MSD box right to the distributor. Use the msd blaster coil 8202 & no resistor needed.
1 Αυγ 2018 · Recently, I had the following improvements made to eliminate the problem but they continue: new plugs, new plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, rebuilt carb, PCV valve, fuel line filter, and timing check.
