This post assumes you have already learnt major and minor barre chords so won’t be going into detail about what barre chords are or how to play them. Instead I will be showing you some 7th chords that will build on your repertoire of barre chords.
The seventh chord is often played as a barre chord. The main movable shapes for dominant 7th barre chords in pictures: The diagram to the left depicts an E7-shape barre chord for dominant 7th and the diagram to the right depicts an A7-shape barre chord (the lowest string should not be played).

Chart with barre chords. When it comes to barre chords there are two common shapes for every chord, with the bass note on the 6th and 5th strings. The motivation for learning two positions for every barre chord is that it makes the movements over the fingerboard smaller.
Dominant Barre Chords (aka 7th chords) Dominant chords consist of a root, a third, a fifth, and a flatted seventh. They can be thought of as a major triad extended with a flatted seventh. In our diatonic scale, only the V chord is dominant. Note the optional b7 on the 2nd string, played with the 4th finger if desired.
