  2. To comply with Iowa's One Call law, a homeowner or excavator must go online to IowaOneCall.com or call 811 or 800-292-8989 to schedule underground utility lines to be located and marked. This will create a ticket for the location to be visited.

  3. When you have a project that requires digging, your first step is to contact Iowa One Call. You can do this by calling 811 or 1-800-292-8989. You can also file your locate requests online by clicking on the “Submit a Ticket” button above.

  4. Anyone who plans to dig should call 811 or go to their state 811 center’s website to request the approximate location of buried utilities be marked. 811 is the national call-before-you-dig phone number.
