You have a wide selection you could use but I suggest staying conservative with the 5.0 so as to not loose what little low rpm power you have. The Comp 35-349-8 produces a broad powerband all the way to 5000rpm while the 35-510-8 will push the powerband down a little bit lower.

25 Ιαν 2015 · The Comp 35-349-8 is a high lift HO grind that is a bit more radical again, it needs upgraded valve springs but don't use 1.7 rockers with it that just puts more strain on the valvetrain for no gain. In all cases there is no need to change the lifters so save your money and put it into the exhaust.

On 5.0L engines, install camshaft synchronizer into cylinder block making sure that arrow on Syncro Positioning Tool T96T-12200-A is pointing forward parallel to center line of crankshaft. This step will locate camshaft position sensor electrical connector to the pre-removal position.
Install sprockets and timing chain on the camshaft and crankshaft simultaneously. Verify timing marks on the sprockets are positioned correctly. Ford Racing timing sets have a 9-position crank gear. If using the 0 mark, crank key must align with key way below 0 mark.
