Let me begin by saying I've only played AbussalCraft in the context of SevTech. I'll also preface that the grave deletion bug wasn't a factor in my current view of Abyssalcraft. My impression of the mod was that it's built to be griefy towards the player with often permanent damage done to the world (biome changes, for instance).
