19 Οκτ 2024 · BC stands for 'Before Christ' and refers to all the years before the birth of Jesus Christ. The numbers go backward from year 1, so 500 BC is earlier than 200 BC. AD stands for the Latin phrase 'Anno Domini', which means 'in the year of our Lord'. AD is used for the years after Jesus was born. Unlike BC, AD years move forward from year 1.
