Prophylactic G-CSF may be used to mitigate the risk of haematological toxicities. Patients should have an increased fluid intake of 2-3 litres on day 1 to prevent haemorrhagic cystitis associated with cyclophosphamide. Myalgias and arthralgias may occur with PACLitaxel. Analgesic cover should be considered.
This treatment regimen consists of two parts: 4 cycles of AC, followed by 4 cycles of TH and 13 cycles of trastuzumab. Breast neoadjuvant/adjuvant AC (DOXOrubicin and CYCLOPHOSPHamide) three weekly. Breast adjuvant TH (DOCEtaxel and trastuzumab) three weekly.
