6 Ιουν 2024 · The Microsoft Dolby Installer runs a simple command script that can add AC3 compatibility to all the Microsoft apps you install on a Windows 10 or 11 machine.
AC-3 is an audio codec that supports multi-channel (“surround sound”) audio. It's also known as Dolby Digital. On versions of Windows prior to Windows 11, version 24H2, the AC-3 codec is included. Beginning with Windows 11, version 24H2, the AC-3 codec is no longer included with Windows.
Microsoft Dolby Atmos (AC3) Installer ensures that the AC3 audio format is compatible and functional in all Microsoft applications, providing users with an enhanced audio experience across the entire suite of Microsoft software.

Run the downloaded file to install the filters and add support for playing AC-3 files and many other formats. Keep the installation directory, or change it, and click on Next. Keep everything checked under "Select Components".
