AVA’s Resident Artists truly are the “voices of tomorrow.” Since 1980, over 50 AVA alums have joined the Metropolitan Opera’s roster and AVA alumni are heard in the world’s great opera houses every season. These talented individuals, chosen from a pool of extraordinary vocalists, truly represent the future of opera through their exceptional talent and unwavering commitment to their artistry.
10 Αυγ 2024 · The Academy of Vocal Arts has announced its 2024-25 Resident Arts. The artists include sopranos Alexa Franklin, Daniela Machado, and Beautiful Sheriff; mezzo-sopranos Katherine Dobbs and Juliana Smith; tenor Cole McIlquham; baritones Jacob Hanes and Alex Mathews; bass-baritone Joshua Klein; and bass Raúl Velazco.

The newly appointed Resident Artists include tenor Joshua Berg, soprano Manli Deng, mezzo-soprano Ariana Maubach, soprano Veronica Richer, baritone Geoffrey Schmelzer, and bass-baritone Nan Wang.
