11 Ιουλ 2015 · You can use the Tab Modifier extension and set the icon property in the json as described here to use the blue Gmail icon. This extension also works in Microsoft Edge in Windows 10/11, which is not true in the general case for other Chrome extensions.

3 Φεβ 2011 · All modern browsers (tested with Chrome 4, Firefox 3.5, IE8, Opera 10 and Safari 4) will always request a favicon.ico unless you've specified a shortcut icon via <link>. So all you have to do is to make the /favicon.ico request to your website return your favicon.

Your options at present are (from easiest to difficult): Use an emoji in the bookmark name; Install a Chrome extension, e.g. Bookmark Favicon Changer or Favicon Changer
8 Ιαν 2010 · There's a Chrome extension that shows you the unread message count, and it also allows you to change the color of the favicon at the same time. If one of your two Gmail tabs is regular Gmail and the other is for a custom domain, then you can set a different color for each one.
