Community School District 1 brings students and educators together for inclusive 3K – 12 learning environments on NYC’s East Village & Lower East Side.
You can look up your child's zoned school (if they have one) and your school district at Find-a-School or by calling 311. Families living in Districts 1, 7, and 23 do not have a zoned school—children living in these districts have priority to attend all schools in the district.

Allowing students to attend public schools outside their district is called interdistrict enrollment. All 50 states permit public school transfers in at least some cases, but access to open enrollment varies widely by state.
