The NYC Online Teacher Application is a multi-step process. After creating an account, applicants must complete their Common Profile before starting the NYC Online Teacher Application. This can be completed in one sitting or saved and completed later.
First, apply to become a teacher at New York City Public Schools by completing a thorough online application. Then if your application is accepted, you can begin connecting with principals at schools that interest you.
To access your candidate portal and continue working on your application, you may log into the NYC Online Teacher Application by logging in as an Existing User using the email address and password you used to create your profile.

Candidates who are certified in New York State can still be considered for current openings in our schools. Complete the Express Interest Form and provide details on your certification status in order to be considered for hiring.
The selection process for the NYC Teaching Collaborative consists of three parts: the online application, a phone interview, and an in-person interview (Selection Day). We recommend that interested candidates apply as early as possible.
