27 Νοε 2011 · So I'm seeing that there's a newer version of Tomy/AFX. What's the difference? How can I tell visually when looking at track sections in eBay? Is the newer really preferable to the old? Is there truly a distinction any more between Tomy and AFX? Thanks, guys!
20 Νοε 2007 · Tomy has a better curve selection as stated, and a deeper slot. But Tyco has its good points.... Even lane spacing, and smoother than Tomy. There is an aftermarket 15" and 6" curve made for Tyco track. Tomy came out with an 18" curve, so if you want to get those, you'll have to get those Lifelike track adapters.
27 Οκτ 2007 · I got my first HO set for Christmas 1967. It was an Aurora Model Motoring set that came with two Thunderjets - A Chapparal and a Ford GT40. I always preferred the T-jets and AFX cars, and later the Tomy AFX cars (love the Group C cars) to any other brand. I also prefer the Tomy AFX track to Tyco.
Comparing Track Makes. There are several sites comparing each of these tracks, the advantages, and short comings of each. Here's an overview of what I've learned personally and reading opinions through the years. New AFX (Tomy) Racemasters. (AutoWorld track is fully compatible with AFX) My previous home layout was made using Tomy track. Advantages.
Judging by the cars I have, the new AFX is fantastic quality, especially over Auto World. But according to the only reviewer I've found comparing the two, it seems as though the Auto World track connects better and seems to be a little better in every category.
21 Δεκ 2005 · Hi I am pretty new to the slot car world but I am getting a Aurora AFX slot car track. I have some old T-Jet cars (1/64 scale) that i will be running on it. But I was wondering if the Johnny Lightning cars will be able to run on the same track? Also what other cars will i be able to run? I think tyco..... please help me thanks Shawn
Can you mix and match Tyco track with other brands of cars AfX/Aurora etc? If so, can someone guide me in the right direction. I literally started looking on eBay this week.
