AITrack is a 6-Degree of Freedom headtracker designed to work alongside Opentrack for its use in simulators/games. AITrack uses its own tracking pipeline (based on neural networks) to estimate the user's head position with respect to the webcam and then, streams it to Opentrack, which in turn, transmits it to your games.
If you already have a Webcam you can instead use the free OpenTrack head tracker. It may not track as smooth as TrackIR but hey – it’s free! This guide will help you install OpenTrack and get it setup for Elite Dangerous, DCS World and any other space- or flight-sim that supports head tracking.

We've seen one solution so far that involves pairing a paid smartphone app with OpenTrack (one of these free open source headtracking solutions), but if you already have a webcam, even one built into a laptop, you can use OpenTrack with a different piece of input software: AITrack, which is free to use.

Will cost you $10-$12 on the Google or IOS store though for smoothtrack. In a nutshell, you turn your phone into a networked head tracker (smoothtrack), sending the info via udp to opentrack. I found smoothtrack to be utterly stellar at tracking my head, compared to other free offerings out there.
