In most racing vehicles this is eliminated by covering the entire underside of the vehicle in what is called an under tray. This tray prevents any air from becoming trapped under the vehicle and reduces drag.
There are several factors that can greatly impact a car’s acceleration, handling, and fuel economy, but air resistance has the greatest impact at high speeds and on windy days. During this process, aerodynamics plays an important role, which can be attributed to its science.
19 Απρ 2016 · Aerodynamics is the science of the way air flows inside and around objects. Overall, it could be called “Fluid Dynamics” since air is actually just an extremely thin fluid type. Beyond slow speed, the air flow inside and around a car starts to gain a noticeable impact in terms of acceleration, duel efficiency, handling, and top speed.
As the vehicle moves forwards through the air the air rushes past the vehicle. This causes friction, which we call drag, and this slows the vehicle down. Large amounts of money are spent by the designers of cars to try and make a car which has a little drag as possible.
