Hi all, has anyone used air nz's one up upgrade service where you make an offer to upgrade a class and a few days prior to your flight they will either accept of decline your offer? I am wanting to do this on a flight from Auckland to Papeete but am unsure of how much to "offer".

I've used the one up service three times, successfully, on flights from Perth to Auckland. I looked at the difference in price between PE and business, halved it and bid around $100 under that amount. Four friends who made really weak bids were refused.
You could try skypeing their +64 0800 727 000 number if you want to avoid expensive international mobile call charges. BTW they can be slow to answer because they are always "Experiencing higher then normal call volumes ……"
Answered: I'm considering making an offer for a OneUp upgrade AKL to Shanghai. The Air NZ website defaults to offers made in Euros. While i can do the conversion, I wonder why a NZ airline would do this when I'm based in NZ. All references to OneUp...
hi d1157, have you registered for the Air New Zealand Loyalty scheme? you can do this online easily. I booked a ticket LHR - LAX -AUCK in June. Once you have logged in with your membership number, you can look at how the 'one up' offers work.
