22 Ιαν 2015 · In 2 Timothy, chapter 2, Paul gives Timothy encouragement and exhorts him to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, bearing his share of hardship like a good soldier of Christ. In verses 4-6, he tells Timothy that there are some rules for the role he will be taking on:

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 4:1-5 People will turn away from the truth, they will grow weary of the plain gospel of Christ, they will be greedy of fables, and take pleasure in them.
In face of this danger of disunity Paul sets down five considerations which ought to prevent disharmony. (i) The fact that we are all in Christ should keep us in unity. No man can walk in disunity with his fellow-men and in unity with Christ. If he has Christ as the companion of his way, he is inevitably the companion of every wayfarer.
