The Tongass National Forest is home to the Akwe River, a special fishing spot in a pristine wilderness environment. Only two camps are allowed to be set up along the Akwe River—a US Forest Service permitted site. Our special camp is situated directly on a spit between the river and the Gulf of Alaska.
“Hippy John” was the original outfitter permitted by the National Forest Service, Yakutat Ranger District to operate on the Akwe River in the Tongass National Forest. He will retain his presence and role as part-time guide with the Crawfords “Akwe River Adventures”.
