10 Ιουν 2022 · 48 candidates are on the ballot. The list includes 16 Republicans, 6 Democrats, and 4 from third parties. The remaining 22 filed as either nonpartisan or undeclared. The top four finishers will advance to the August 16 special general election, which will use ranked choice voting to determine a winner.
Al Gross (I) advanced from the June 11 top-four primary, but he withdrew from the race on June 20. [3] This election used ranked-choice voting (RCV). In the final round of tabulation, Peltola had 51.5% of the vote to Palin's 48.5%.

The move could concentrate support for a candidate who is uniquely positioned to connect with rural Alaska and Alaska Native voters, Mary Peltola.
