1 Οκτ 2013 · Probably a bug. My daughter's iMac running OS X Yosemite (it will not run Sierra) seems to have issues with adding Photos to shared albums. When she adds items to a shared album (originally created on her iPhone) Photos shows the item count going up, but they never appear in the album.
