7 Αυγ 2024 · As of the evening of August 7, the Alexander Mountain Fire is estimated at 9,668 acres and 91% containment. This morning, Highway 34 opened in both directions between Estes Park and Loveland. Evacuation orders have been downgraded to voluntary for the Storm Mountain and Cedar Park areas.
The Alexander Mountain Fire started on the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland on July 28, 2024. It reached 100 percent containment on August 17, 2024. Final acreage was reported as 9,668.
