Renault Alpine A 610 (1991) - pictures, information & specs. The Renault Alpine GTA and Renault Alpine A610 were two successive versions of a coupe automobile produced by the Renault-owned French manufacturer Alpine between 1986 and 1995.
Despite similar styling, the A610 was an all-new car, sharing only its windows with the outgoing GTA. Vividly quick with a maximum speed of more than 160mph, the Alpine A610 was a pukka Porsche 911 rival - in all except build quality, servicing and image.
The new A610 was claimed to be 80 percent new, but it was a heavy revision from the old car rather than a complete makeover like that from A110 to A310 or from A310 to GTA. For the sake of difference, Renault restyled its nose with a pair of pop-up headlamps and a chunky bumper.
