9 Μαρ 2024 · This calculator provides the calculation of interior angles of a triangle using the Alternate Interior Angles Theorem. Explanation Calculation Example: The Alternate Interior Angles Theorem states that when two parallel lines are intersected by a transversal, the non-adjacent interior angles are congruent.
Alternate Interior Angles. When two lines are crossed by another line (called the Transversal): Alternate Interior Angles are a pair of angles on the inner side of each of those two lines but on opposite sides of the transversal. In this example c and f are a pair of Alternate Interior Angles.
The two purple angles (at A & B) are alternate interior angles, and so they are equal. The straight angle at A is 180 and is the sum of the green, purple and red angles. But the angles in the triangle are these green, purple and red angles.
The alternate interior angles theorem states that if a transversal crosses the set of parallel lines, the alternate interior angles are congruent. Two lines that never intersect, are equidistant, and are coplanar are called parallel lines.
Alternate interior angles can be used to show similarity for two triangles. Example: Parallel line segments AB and DE are cut by transversals AE and BD which intersect at point C. Since alternate interior angles are congruent, we can show that ABC is similar to EDC.
