CAMP LOCATION: Near the south end of Echo Lake in Acadia national park. CAMP FACILITIES: 43 army style tents with cots mattresses and camp supplied bedding. Dinning hall, recreation hall, library, volley ball court, basketball hoop.
The Echo Lake Camp began in 1922 when George B. Dorr signed a lease with the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) to allow camping on the shores of the lake. In 1926 he signed another lease for ten more years.
