Determining if Your Property is In or Out of a Flood Zone. The Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) is the official map of a community on which the Mitigation Division Administrator has delineated both the special hazard areas and the risk premium zones applicable to the community.
Levee Flood Protection Zone maps estimate the maximum area that may be flooded if a State-Federal levee fails with flows at maximum capacity that may reasonably be conveyed. These maps specifically focus on flood risks associated with State-Federal levees.
