8 Σεπ 2006 · I soldered my first barrel extension by cleaning it and the barrel threads with and auto body degreaser called Acryli-clean. Drilling out the area to be pinned is crucial but easy. It is like drilling the barrel trunnions.

If you're building a bug-out rifle and will only accept the best, don't rely on a budget barrel. If you want to snag a dirt cheap AKM kit that is otherwise ComBloc, the Classic AMD65 kits are good to go in my opinion.
Hungarian AMD65 Original 7.62x39mm Barrel. Made in Hungary by FEG this barrel is in excellent condition. All gas ports and pins have been drilled.
These are barrels made in our shop from rifled 4150 blanks. They are stamped 7.62 U.S.A. unlike any other US made barrel. This is the original length for the AMD-65 so to build a rifle you will need to extend the barrel to 16" to be legal. For a pistol you will not need the extension.
These are made to bring Hungarian AMD 65 rifles to the legal 16" length and not require pin or welding an extension. The chamber end of the barrels measure .9075" to .908". This item is made in the United States and counts as a 922r compliant part.
