8 Σεπ 2006 · In order to adhere to BATF regulations I decided to purchase a USA piston and install it on the AMD 65. First there is a big difference between the AMD 65 and other AK 47's. The barrel length is only 12.5" which effects many other parts of the gun and legalities.
7 Αυγ 2021 · AMD-65. Hungary's Paratrooper and Armored troopers rifle. Barrel length of just 14.88". Overall length of 33.34" stock extended. 7.62x39 caliber. Known for their unique muzzle brake and folding wire stock. But on a @childersguns receiver. Original parts kit with original barrel.
These are barrels made in our shop from rifled 4150 blanks. They are stamped 7.62 U.S.A. unlike any other US made barrel. This is the original length for the AMD-65 so to build a rifle you will need to extend the barrel to 16" to be legal.
Numbers matching AMD 65 parts kit (all hungarian made small parts included), with 100% Ohio Ord. receiver. The kit looks to have been shot and carried some, but not a lot. Barrel is bright and in one piece.
Machined in our shop from 4150 rifled blanks! These are stamped 7.62 U.S.A. for 922r Compliance! No other US made barrel has any markings. Nitrided Barrel. These have the extractor cut, handguard retainer cut, and barrel threaded 14-1 LH.
23 Δεκ 2011 · The AMD-65 has a 12 inch barrel, but somewhere along the line the BATF made a ruling that allows these shorter barrels so long as there is a permanently attached (i.e. welded) muzzle brake that brings the overall barrel length up to 16.25 inches.
18 Δεκ 2019 · If you're building a bug-out rifle and will only accept the best, don't rely on a budget barrel. If you want to snag a dirt cheap AKM kit that is otherwise ComBloc, the Classic AMD65 kits are good to go in my opinion.
