15 Φεβ 2017 · In May 2016, the American College of Physicians published its own clinical practice guideline for the management of chronic insomnia. 15 This guideline makes two major recommendations. The first is that all patients with chronic insomnia receive CBT-I as the initial treatment intervention.
The AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events provides guidelines for sleep scoring and monitoring. It includes a user guide, parameters to be reported for polysomnography, technical and digital specifications, and sleep staging rules for adults and children.

Introduction: The purpose of this guideline is to establish clinical practice recommendations for the pharmacologic treatment of chronic insomnia in adults, when such treatment is clinically indicated.

The AASM Scoring Manual also provides guidance on standard montages, electrode placements and technical and digital specifications.
