Saturday, June 29, 2023, American Banjo Museum presents the youth event: Lucas Ross’ BANJO FARM. The day will feature music/comedy concerts by Ross (Outreach & Promotion), an instrument playground, sponsored by the Opry Heritage Foundation of Oklahoma, banjo workshops, banjo crafts and fun for the whole family!
Its first permanent exhibit focuses on the banjo's African-American origins and showcases the earliest American banjos that were used to accompany singing or dancing, which remained exclusive to Black culture for nearly 200 years. [12]
The American Banjo Museum contains over 300 banjos on display and is the only museum of its type dedicated to preserving and promoting the music and heritage of America's native musical instrument - the banjo. An interpretive exhibit tells the evolution of the banjo from its humble roots in American slavery, to bluegrass, to folk and world music.
