The Department of Animal Care and Control is one of the largest and most progressive animal control agencies in the United States. Its six animal care centers serve unincorporated Los Angeles County and 49 contract cities with a combined total population of over 3 million residents.
All dogs in Culver City must be licensed in Culver City. In person at SEAACA. In person at Public Safety Office (1042 Huntington Drive) or Duarte City Hall (1600 Huntington Drive). By mail to SGVHS Licensing, 851 E Grand Ave, San Gabriel, CA 91776. Bring applications and payment to El Segundo PD at 348 Main Street.
We look at each dog who comes into our care as an individual, taking into consideration all the information we receive from the previous owner or person turning in (if the dog is a stray) as well as the behavior the dog exhibits while they are with us in the animal care center.
A dog used to show, compete, or breed, and is a breed registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC), United Kennel Club (UKC), American Dog Breeders Association (ADBA), or other valid registry approved by the Director, and meets one of the following requirements:
Dogs and horses (any equine) are required to be licensed in the City of Los Angeles. License tags identify guardians of lost animals. Each license tag has a unique number assigned to your animal only.
The department provides disaster services for Los Angeles County, including evacuation assistance and boarding for domestic animals and livestock during emergencies and natural disasters. If evacuations begin before pet or livestock owners are notified; owners will be provided with emergency numbers to call to arrange for boarding.
