Primarily, this section of the peripheral nervous system sends and receives signals regarding locomotion and balance of the body.

In this tutorial, however, we'll be focusing on four main regions within the lower extremity and these nerves are the nerves of the hip, the nerves of the thigh, the nerves of the leg and the nerves of the foot.
