1 Απρ 2024 · The fascia lata ends at the knee joint where it then becomes the deep fascia of the leg (the crural fascia). Attachments are made at bony prominences around the knee including the femoral and tibial condyles, patella, head of fibula and the tibial tuberosity.
Fascia is the tensional, continuous fibrillar network within the body, extending from the surface of the skin to the nucleus of the cell. This global network is mobile, adaptable, fractal, and irregular. It constitutes the basic structural architecture of the human body.
Before we move on to see the muscles that produce inversion and eversion, we need to digress for two minutes, to look at the layer of deep fascia that surrounds all the muscles of the leg, and the three fibrous partitions, or septa that divide the leg muscles into somewhat distinct compartments.
