China was first united under a single imperial state by Qin Shi Huang in 221 BC. Orthography, weights, measures, and law were all standardized. Shortly thereafter, China entered its classical era with the Han dynasty (202 BC – 220 AD), marking a critical period.
China is a society which has had a very long history. This history was affected by the dynasties which have ruled it. They have slowly changed China into its current form. The Xia dynasty lasted from 2070 BC until 1600 BC. [2] . It was the first ruling dynasty in Chinese history. The Xia was probably created by emperor Yu the Great.
There were three main types of dynasties: central plain dynasties, unified dynasties, and conquest dynasties. The central plain dynasties had their capital cities located within the Central Plain while the unified dynasties were responsible for uniting “China proper.”
