The Ghana Empire (Arabic: غانا), also known as simply Ghana, [2] Ghanata, or Wagadu, was a West African classical to post-classical era western-Sahelian empire based in the modern-day southeast of Mauritania and western Mali. It is uncertain among historians when Ghana's ruling dynasty began.
5 Μαρ 2019 · The Ghana Empire crumbled from the 12th century CE following drought, civil wars, the opening up of trade routes elsewhere, and the rise of the Sosso Kingdom (c. 1180-1235 CE) and then the Mali Empire (1240-1645 CE).
19 Οκτ 2024 · Ghana, first of the great medieval trading empires of western Africa (fl. 7th–13th century). It was situated between the Sahara and the headwaters of the Sénégal and Niger rivers, in an area that now comprises southeastern Mauritania and part of Mali.
On that day a national flag, based on the Convention People’s Party flag, was hoisted throughout the land. The country also acquired a new name, based on the empire of Ghana, which had been a powerful and rich state from the 7th to the 13th century.
