ANGER? The causes vary from person to person and from situation to situation. Anger affects your body. When you get angry, your body creates energy. Here’s what happens: • Adrenaline and other chemicals enter your bloodstream. • Your heart pumps faster. • Your blood flows more quickly. • Your muscles tense. Everyone gets angry sometimes.
The first step to managing anger appropriately is recognizing your early warning signs. These are the physical signs your body gives you that something is about to blow. Some common signs of anger are listed in the chart below. Write in any additional signs you have noticed in yourself.
