10 Ιουν 2021 · More than 95% of all SLE patients have (or at least had) positive antinuclear antibodies, but test quality may be an issue. For specificity, it is important to attribute symptoms and results to SLE only if there is no more likely alternative explanation.

20 Αυγ 2021 · If your doctor says your ANA test is “positive,” that means you have antinuclear antibodies in your blood — but it doesn’t necessarily mean you have lupus. In fact, a large portion of patients with a positive ANA do not have lupus.
If an ANA is positive, it should be interpreted using the context of specific symptoms and clinical findings (ie skin tightening, lupus rashes, inflammatory arthritis, oral or nasal ulcers, alopecia, cytopenia, etc).
