LITERARY TERMS For AP ENGLISH LITERATURE. Allegory-The representation of abstract ideas or principles by characters, figures, or events in narrative, dramatic, or pictorial form. Alliteration-The repetition of the same consonant sound at the beginning of several words in a line of poetry. ie. Marilyn Monroe.
