We’re working on a special project collecting previously unpublished translations of Arabic poetry. We’re calling on Arabic–English translators to submit poetry by groundbreaking poets who write on an array of themes that need not necessarily be political.
30 Νοε 2021 · We found only one Arabic poetry collection to be published in English translation in 2022: You Can Be the Last Leaf, by Maya Abu al-Hayyat, translated by Fady Joudah, in addition to one poetry collection (Agitated Air: Poems After Ibn Arabi) that adapts and transcreates classic Arabic poems.
