15 Μαρ 2022 · Open carry and concealed carry are legal without a permit. Individuals 21 years old or older not prohibited from carrying or possessing a handgun are no longer required to obtain a license to carry a concealed handgun as of June 12, 2022.
Concealed Carry in Ohio. While you do not need a concealed carry permit to carry concealed in Ohio, the CCW issued by OH enables you to carry in 38 states (see the Ohio CCW reciprocity map above) and may also shorten your waiting time when purchasing a firearm.
Once issued, a concealed handgun permit is valid for 5 years from the date of issuance. While Ohio accepts concealed carry permits from any other issuing authority, those with a concealed handgun permit can carry concealed in 38 other states. This information was last updated in February 2019.
