Gotham's courses all are opening repertoires - gambit lines, e6-b6 setups, the London system, etc. But it doesn't matter how good your opening is if you hang a piece on move 6 after your preparation runs out. That's why the best training for new players is frequent tactics and puzzles.
I guess my answer is, it depends on the course. If you’re looking for the beginner bootcamp and have liked Gotham’s free content in the past, it might be worth it, but since I haven’t bought that one I’m unable to offer any specific advice on that one.

I think his opening courses are solid, and that's something he's actually quite good at. Of course, Chessable also has courses for the price of one of these and a lot of those are quite good, too. There are also a lot of Short and Sweet style ones that are free and might do a lot of what you need.

I find his videos somewhat useful until he moves and talks so fast later in the videos I kind of lose the thread that it's harder for me to absorb everything he's saying.
